Hey folks! Hope you’re all doing well today. We’ve got an interesting story coming straight out of San Miguel de Allende that you won’t want to miss.
The municipal government has announced a whopping 20 million pesos—yes, that’s right, 20 million—set aside for fixing up the damage caused by the recent rains that came pouring down like they were in a Hollywood disaster flick.
Mayor Mauricio Trejo Pureco dropped this news during a recent visit around the town, saying that they’ve got their eyes on at least a dozen communities that were hit hard by the deluge. Apparently, the rural areas took the biggest hit, with many roads rendered virtually useless. The mayor emphasized, “We have all the damaged roads identified… the rural areas were the most affected as many roads have been rendered impassable.”
But wait, there’s more! This cash isn’t just for repairs—it’s also going to cover material purchases, hiring temporary workers, and renting some serious machinery to get those roads back in action. Isn’t that cool?
Trejo Pureco mentioned that he took a good look around, so they should have the funds distributed wisely to make sure every affected community gets the help they need. The goal is to kick off repairs this week—so fingers crossed, right?
In his own words, he said,
“This rainy season is a blessing because the fields will be very productive, but it’s a huge responsibility on our part to be very vigilant.”
Sounds like he’s ready to weather the storm, huh?
So, there you have it—a solid plan from San Miguel de Allende’s city hall. As they gear up to tackle those bumpy roads, let’s hope they get the job done swiftly, and perhaps we can all enjoy smoother rides soon! Stay tuned, and let us know what you think about this hefty investment. Until next time!
