We grew up here. We’ve been calling San Miguel home long before it was a “Top 10 Destination.”
We’re locals — born and raised, or here long enough to remember when the Jardin still felt like a secret. We know the names of the street dogs, the stories behind the murals, and the families behind the food stands. This city runs through our veins.
Hello San Miguel is a homegrown, English-language digital newspaper created by locals who truly love and live this city. We’re here to bridge cultures, tell meaningful stories, and shine a light on the people, places, and everyday beauty of San Miguel de Allende.
Because we believe San Miguel deserves to be seen — not just as a destination, but as a living, breathing community.
It’s a town full of artists, workers, abuelas, chefs, poets, builders, dreamers, and longtime neighbors from all over the world. We want to tell their stories — the ones that don’t make it into tourist guides, but make this place what it is.
We created Hello San Miguel because no one was telling the real story of our city in English. Now we are.
Whether you’re a resident, a snowbird, a digital nomad, or just visiting for the magic — you’re welcome here.
If you care about community, culture, and connection, you’ll feel right at home with us.
We’re digital for now — publishing fresh content every day and sending out a weekly newsletter. But the dream is bigger: a print edition, events, podcasts, and more ways to bring the city to life.
Because San Miguel has so much to say.
We’re independent, local, and built from scratch. If you believe in thoughtful journalism with corazón, we’d love your support.
Buy us a coffee (or a mezcalito) — and help us keep doing what we love:
telling San Miguel’s story, one honest post at a time.
