Friendly greetings to all you lovely readers! Today, we have some exciting news from our charming little town of San Miguel de Allende. The highly anticipated exhibition “Anne Frank: Notes of Hope” is kicking off, and it’s sure to be an eye-opener for many.

Starting May 23rd, this immersive and heartfelt show will take you on a journey through the life of Anne Frank, a young Dutch girl who spent 761 days in hiding with her family during the Nazi occupation. With over 150 photographs displayed across different rooms, the exhibition begins with a warm introduction to Anne, guiding you through the chronology of her life alongside the history of Germany.

Mayor Mauricio Trejo Pureco emphasized that this exhibition aims to cultivate tolerance and understanding among visitors. And let’s be honest, there’s no better place for that than our lovely city, where folks from every corner of the globe come together. As he aptly put it, “This exhibition is not about origins or religions; it’s about intolerance and the harm it causes. But, as always, there’s that grain of hope: that despite everything, Anne Frank continued to believe in the goodness of people. What greater lesson can there be?”

Linda Atach, the exhibition’s curator, expressed gratitude to the city government for their support and highlighted that the show includes an exact replica of the hiding place where Anne and her family lived for over two years. This is the perfect opportunity to step into history and experience firsthand what life was like for the Frank family during that time.

Making sure everyone can join the experience, the exhibition is super inclusive! It offers information in Braille, easy-to-read formats, and sign language interpretation. Plus, trained staff will be there to help guide visitors through the experience.

So, don’t miss out! The exhibition runs from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 AM to 6 PM, and the general admission fee is just 80 pesos, with discounts available for students, seniors, and locals with ID.

In a nutshell, “Anne Frank: Notes of Hope” promises to be an emotional and thought-provoking experience. This exhibition not only connects us to an important piece of history but also encourages us to reflect on our current world. So why not take a stroll down to visit? It could be the perfect plan for your weekend!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this event, so feel free to share your comments below! Until then, stay curious, San Miguel!
