Odata Just Opened a New Data Center in San Miguel, and It’s a Game Changer!

Hello, friends! We’ve got some exciting news brewing in San Miguel de Allende. Odata, a big player in the data center game, just opened their fourth facility here in our lovely town. Yep, you heard it right—a shiny new center called QR04 is officially up and running, thanks to some serious investment from the folks over at Aligned Data Centers.

This new joint is located right in the heart of the San Miguel business district and is geared up to meet the growing demand for cloud services and artificial intelligence (you know, all the techy stuff that makes our lives a whole lot easier). Odata, hailing all the way from Brazil, currently operates in five countries across Latin America, and they mean business.

Carlos Forero, the head honcho of operations at Odata, spilled the beans on their mission here: “We’re not just building; we’re anticipating what our customers need so they can plug into our services without a hitch.” It’s like they’ve got a crystal ball for business needs!

Sustainability is also on their radar. They’re committed to using as little water as possible (because, you know, we all love a refreshing drink but want to keep our planet cool) and they proudly boast that a whopping 96% of their employees are Mexican. How’s that for homegrown talent?

And here’s a juicy tidbit—after the grand opening of QR04, there’s already talk of expansion, with plans to double its capacity. Rafael Bomeny, the finance guru at Odata, highlighted that the center is already rocking a capacity of 12 MW (that’s mega-watts for the uninitiated), and they’re just getting started.

Alejandro Hernández Fonseca, the Investment Attraction Undersecretary from the state’s Economy Secretariat, chimed in too, saying that San Miguel de Allende is quickly becoming a hot spot for industry. The mayor, Mauricio Trejo, couldn’t agree more. He mentioned that this venture would help put our town on the map for attracting responsible industry—citing “hundreds of millions of dollars” being pumped into this project. Talk about a boost for our local economy!

So there you have it, folks—a new tech center, more jobs for locals, and a brighter future for San Miguel de Allende. What do you think? Is this the beginning of a new tech boom in our charming town? Drop me a line and let me know your thoughts. Until next time, take it easy!
