Hey there, San Miguel folks!
Guess what? Our charming little town just rallied together for a pawsome cause! This past weekend, San Miguel de Allende hosted the Third State Croquetón, collecting a whopping 750 kilograms of food for our furry friends in need. That’s right, this wasn’t just about slinging treats for dogs and cats; it was also a chance for some fantastic vet care, free sterilizations, and, wait for it… 10 critters found their forever homes!
Patitas de Humanidad, the heroes behind this compassionate effort, pulled off an event that was more than just a food drive. They brought in experts to give talks and demonstrations on dog and bird training, which was a treat for all the animal lovers in attendance. And just to sweeten the deal, there was a free sterilization day for pets at the local fire station, reducing the pet population one snip at a time.
Margarita Guerra, president of Patitas de Humanidad, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to our generous community. She emphasized that the work doesn’t stop here—there are still plenty of four-legged friends out there needing help. So, if you missed this round but want to pitch in, don’t worry! They’re still accepting donations to keep the momentum going for our beloved stray buddies.
We can’t overlook the impressive amount of food collected, nearly three-quarters of a ton! That’s several bags of kibble and cans of pate that might just have inspired some doggie dance parties around town. And those 10 lucky pets being adopted? You bet they’ll bring joy and warmth into their new families’ lives.
So, let’s keep the good vibes going, San Miguel! Whether you have a pet at home or just love the critters around town, it’s great to see our community come together for a cause like this. Got thoughts about the event? We’d love to hear from you! Until next time, keep that tail wagging and those spirits high! See ya!
