Today we’ve got an update on a project that’s been in the works longer than some of us have been daydreaming about our next vacation – the Artesanto development. Originally launched in 2016, this mixed-use project has faced more ups and downs than a rollercoaster ride, but it’s gearing up for a relaunch in 2025.
So, what’s the scoop? Artesanto is nestled in San Miguel’s District Corazón – an area that’s shaping up to be a new economic hotspot. This ambitious endeavor promises residential areas, parks, hotels, and even a little shopping district, all designed to blend nicely with our city’s iconic vibe. Sounds promising, right?
But, like most grand plans, things haven’t been smooth sailing. The pandemic put the brakes on construction back in 2020, derailing plans just as they were ready to kick off. Then, in 2021, when the world was starting to feel a little more optimistic, Artesanto was hit with another snag: a change in the local government. This led to a halt on many developments, including Artesanto. But fear not! After proving they’ve got all the necessary permits, they’ve been given the green light once again!
With all that time off, the team behind Artesanto didn’t just sit around twiddling their thumbs. They whipped up a “Rescue Plan” to restructure the project financially. They even managed to convince around 90% of the original investors to stick with their plans, which is no small feat in these uncertain times. Way to go!
Now, as they prepare to secure some fresh funding, the Artesanto project is on track to officially relaunch in 2025, aiming to revamp its commercial proposal and strengthen our local economy. So, get ready to say goodbye to the construction fences and hello to new opportunities!
To wrap things up, the future looks bright for Artesanto and the bustling area of San Miguel de Allende. Who knew that a little perseverance could lead to something that promises to contribute significantly to our community? So, what do you think, folks? Are you excited for the new developments, or are you just here for the coffee and the scenery? Share your thoughts!
Catch you later, San Miguel! Keep sipping that coffee and enjoy the sunshine.
