Celebrate Mom with Sunset Serenity: Birdwatching at El Charco del Ingenio

What’s the plan for Mother’s Day weekend, San Miguel folks? El Charco del Ingenio has a pretty sweet idea for ya!

This Saturday, May 10th, our beautiful botanical garden is inviting everyone to celebrate Día de las Madres in a unique and chill way – out in the open air, surrounded by nature, and in the company of our feathered friends. They’re hosting a free sunset birdwatching session, and it’s open to absolutely everyone, whether you’re a seasoned bird enthusiast or have never even thought about it before. Sounds pretty cool, right?

Mario Hernández, the director of El Charco del Ingenio, explained,

“We want this very special date to be celebrated from a place of connection with what is essential: with nature, with those we love, and with the silence full of life that the birds bring at the end of the day.

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

He also added, “Sunset at El Charco is a magical moment, and observing the birds that come to rest at that time is a beautiful way to celebrate.” Imagine that – a peaceful evening, beautiful scenery, and the sounds of nature. Sounds like a perfect Mother’s Day treat!

Now, don’t worry if you’ve never gone birdwatching before. They’ll have all the gear you need (like binoculars and guides) and some knowledgeable folks on hand to show you the ropes. All they ask is that you wear comfy clothes, show up on time, and bring a willingness to learn and enjoy the moment. Easy peasy!

And the best part? It’s totally free! This event is part of El Charco del Ingenio’s ongoing commitment to connect more people with our local biodiversity and encourage us all to care for our environment through wonder and appreciation. We love to see it!

If you’re interested in joining in on this lovely experience, make sure to register beforehand by calling 415 103 80 90. Spots might fill up!

Mario Hernández wrapped it up perfectly, saying, “A perfect activity to share with Mom, to stop time for a moment and reconnect with what is simple and beautiful: the song of the birds, the light of dusk, and the gift of being present.”

So, if you’re looking for a different kind of Mother’s Day celebration this year, why not head over to El Charco del Ingenio for a relaxing sunset birdwatching experience? It sounds like a fantastic way to connect with nature and spend some quality time with Mom (or anyone you care about!). Happy Mother’s Day weekend, San Miguel!
